Members of the [Institution] SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) Team are working to help fight hunger by participating in the Campbell’s Let’s Can Hunger Challenge.
The Campbell’s Let’s Can Hunger Challenge is a competition sponsored by Campbell Soup Company that challenges SIFE teams in Canada, Mexico and the United States to raise awareness of hunger, translate awareness to action in the form of urgent hunger relief and empower those in need to defeat the cycle of hunger.
Teams are challenged to develop a hunger awareness marketing plan that compels their community to provide urgent hunger relief through the team’s food and fund drives. Teams must also work with food insecure populations to provide knowledge, skills or resources that empower those populations to raise their quality of life and standard of living.
Entries submitted for the Campbell’s Let’s Can Hunger Challenge will be evaluated by a panel of representatives from Campbell Soup Company. The grand prize winning teams will receive cash prizes and will be featured on www.sife.org.
According to the United Nations, about 1.2 billion people in the world are food insecure. The global economic crisis has only accelerated an already steady increase each year in the number of people classified as food insecure. Food and funds are desperately needed to provide urgent hunger relief, and even more importantly, those who are food insecure must be given the knowledge, tools and resources to defeat the hunger cycle.
